There are 2 bilge pumps onboard. They are stacked above each other, as a primary and secondary, in the very deep bilge. All shower water plus the engine bilge area runs into this 5 foot deep area just foward of the engine, whence it is pumped overboard automatically. However, this place gets “nasty” and the sludge that fills it over the years ultimately causes problems with the pumps. Plus they are in use daily when people are aboard, so they wear out. This was a nasty but essential project.

The new pumps were the same brand and I installed them on the same (but cleaned up!) aluminum strip, that then slides down into the bilge to be fastened in place near the bottom of the narrow chasm.
